Slide 1- This slide has a variety of phrases about what Carlos knows. 
Slide 2- You will use the phrases from Slide 1 and sort them into the appropriate category (saber or conocer). Refer back to your notes if you are confused. I will include them on this assignment
Slide 3- There are 5 categories. Each category will let you know whether to use saber or conocer. You will write 2 original sentences in Spanish for EACH category

Read slides 15-21 in the "Saber vs. concocer notes"
Open the assignment and fill in the blanks with the correct form of either saber or conocer. Refer back to your notes (slides 1-14) if you are confused about which to use. You will only use each word in the box once.
Remember- saber is used for when you know a fact or how to do something (if you can look up the answer in a book or on the internet use saber).  conocer is used when you know or are familiar with a person, place, thing or idea

Act #1- Present Tense AR Verbs

We are going to take our class story and change it from 3rd person to first person.

You are going to create your own version of the story. Use this powerpoint as a reference. You will need 5-7 sentences in SPANISH. Use the vocabulary from Unit 8.

You are going to listen to two versions of the song, Cielito Lindo. You are going to write the correct order of the song.

You are going to draw out the story of the Aztec legend from last week. Once you are done with the drawing, you are going to write an alternative ending to the story in SPANISH. It must be 3-4 sentences long. You will submit a google doc for the writing portion of the assignment.

I will not be in class today. This is the assignment that you will work on. You are going to choose a holiday or celebration from the Latino/Hispanic community to research. You cannot choose Dia de los Muertos as your holiday. It needs to be a holiday that has not been covered in class.

You will list the products, practices and perspectives of the holiday. You will need to list 5 facts in each column. Use the powerpoint included if you forget the meaning of products, practices and perspectives.

You will add 5 pictures of that event.

First, you are going to come up with two lies and a truth about yourself (and yes you can write this part in English). I want you to number each statement. After 5 minutes, I will call on random students to introduce themselves and state their two lies and a truth. The class will then vote on which one is the lie.

You are going to create ONE introduction slide. You must have three pictures and include the following:
Name, grade, age, 3 facts about yourself and what you are looking forward to in Spanish this year. You can use my slide as an example. Use the rubric included to make sure that you have all the components.
